First, your tour begins at the National Theatre, the heart of Bucharest, where you’ll absorb some fascinating history. Then, take a short walk to Strada Batistei, once the city’s ‘St Germain’, and see the old American embassy, now a forgotten landmark.
After, we’ll explore the Armenian Quarter, home to a stunning mix of European and Ottoman architecture, before hopping on a tram to Obor Market, Bucharest’s largest peasant market. Here, we’ll kick things off with a traditional tuica (brandy) and a Romanian peasant platter with dips, sausages, and local cheeses, paired with a drink of your choice.
Next, we’ll sample a variety of Romanian cheeses and taste the iconic mici (sausage) with mustard and cold beer. At the end of your culinary journey, enjoy a warm Wallachian doughnut to satisfy your sweet tooth.
