Tour Schedule Details

Start your morning with pickup from your hotel in Chisinau (or a central meeting point) around 9:00 AM. Your local guide will introduce the day ahead as you leave the city behind and head into the Moldovan countryside.

First stop: Asconi Winery (approx. 30–40 minutes from Chisinau). You’ll tour the production facilities and historic cellars, learn about traditional Moldovan winemaking methods, and hear the story behind one of the country’s most respected family-run estates. The visit finishes with a guided tasting of several wines, paired with local snacks like cheese, fresh bread, and seasonal fruits.

Lunch is typically served at or near the winery — a hearty Moldovan meal featuring dishes such as placinte, grilled meats, and fresh salads, all accompanied by wine. (At your cost)

Afternoon: Branesti Winery. Here you’ll descend into the famous underground galleries — miles of tunnels carved through limestone, once used as a secret wine storage facility. You’ll walk (or ride) through the cool cellars, see the vast collection of aged wines, and enjoy a second tasting. Many tours also include a stop at the on-site wine museum or the chance to bottle your own wine.

On the way back, expect scenic views of vineyards and rolling hills, plus stories from your guide about Moldovan wine culture, history, and daily life. You’ll typically return to Chisinau between 5:00 and 7:00 PM

Your day will start with a trip to Branesti winery.

The Brănești Winery is located inside an old limestone mine with galleries extending over a distance of 75 km and occupying an area of 75 ha.

The entire architecture is constructed at a 60 meters depth, which makes it possible to maintain a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees and 90-92% humidity all year round. Next to the natural conditions comes the skilfulness of people which transform the grapes into a Bahic beverage. The winery possesses about 800 ha of vineyards located in a beautiful forest area, on the coast of Orheiul Vechi village, but also in the Romanești and Tudora villages.

Most wine production is exported to China, USA, Poland, Germany, Romania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Baltic States, etc.

The winery is pioneering the first underground hotel in Moldova and is developing a unique “Stone Age” tourist complex. This will offer visitors an opportunity to experience life in a cave, as it would have been in the Stone Age, with small touches of the modern epoch. Here you can enjoy cave life away from the noise of modern civilization and eve-ryday worries.

In the afternoon we will head to Asconi Winery. Founded in 1994 the winery achieved a lot, due to modernization of the manufacturing process, and regular equipment investments. Winemakers use up-to-date production facilities of the best Italian and French manufactures. The wines are made both from local and European grape varieties like Feteasca, Traminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon and others.

Moreover, Asconi has one of the best traditional and Balkan cuisine restaurant in the country, so make sure that after the tour and wine tasting you take your time to taste their “placinta”.
